Manchester City's Savinho is reportedly on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League 2025/26 commences this Friday, August 15.

Liverpool hosts Bournemouth at Anfield tonight on the English Premier League opening day as Arne Slot's men seek to defend their crown.

According to several reports, Thomas Frank's side is in advanced talks to sign Brazilian winger Savinho, who would join the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Palhinha as recruits for the Europa League holders.

The Ghanaian, who dominated Nuno Mendes in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, would be an excellent offensive partner for Savinho.

Savinho to join Tottenham

Savinho, who joined City from Troyes for £30.8 million last summer, contributed three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances last season, according to Transfermarkt.

With the upcoming World Cup in mind, Savinho is reportedly seeking more playing time to secure a spot in Brazil's squad under Carlo Ancelotti. Tottenham, under new head coach Thomas Frank, are offering a platform for regular first-team football, which could be appealing to the young winger.

Negotiations are ongoing, and while City are reluctant to sell, they are open to discussions if an acceptable offer is made. The situation remains fluid, with both clubs keen on reaching an agreement.

According to AS Diario, Manchester City value the 21-year-old Brazilian at £67 million. Following an initial £42 million bid, Spurs are preparing an improved offer. City, however, are holding out for a significantly higher fee, potentially doubling Savinho's current market value.

If Savinho departs from City, it could prompt Guardiola's side to target Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who has been rumoured to be up for a summer move. However, it remains uncertain whether Tottenham will be able to meet City's asking price for Savinho.

Tottenham's opening Premier League fixture

Spurs, who lost the 2025 UEFA Super Cup 4-3 on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain following a 2-2 outcome in 90 minutes in Udine, open their Premier League season with a hone fixture against newly-promoted Burnley on Saturday, August 16 at 14:00 GMT.

According to Flashscore, Spurs take on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on August 23 for their second EPL match of the season, which promises to be entertaining.

Tottenham will face Bournemouth at home on August 30 in their third match of the season, with Black Stars teammates Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo set to go head-to-head.

Meanwhile, speaking to YEN.com.gh's Gariba Raubil, Ghanaian football expert Felix Gyasi thins Savinho would add a lot of quality to Tottenham's attack.

''I think Savinho brings more quality and dynamism to this Tottenham team. If he teams up with the likes of Kudus, Kulusevski, and Johnson, Thomas Frank would have several options upfront.'' Gyasi said.

Kudus impresses in Super Cup
