Mohammed Kudus has been handed a starting role for Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Europa League holders meet the reigning Champions League champions at Udine’s Bluenergy Stadium on August 13 to launch the 2025/26 European campaign.

According to Tottenham's official website, the 24-year-old joined the Premier League side from West Ham United in a six-year deal. The Ghanaian international was reportedly on the radar myriad clubs including Newcastle United, Manchester United, Arsenal as well as some Saudi Pro League teams.

The talented winger represented FC Nordsjælland in Denmark, Ajax in the Netherlands, and the Hammers in England before taking his talent to Spurs.

According to Transfermarkt, Mohammed Kudus made 87 senior appearances during his time in the Netherlands, netting 27 goals across all competitions. In the 2021/22 season, he played a key role in Ajax's Eredivisie title win. The following season, he had a standout year, scoring 18 goals in total, including four in the UEFA Champions League.

The highly-rated footballer signed with West Ham in August 2023 and went on to score 19 goals and provided 13 assists in 80 appearances across all competitions.

According to Manchester City News, the Italian goalkeeper is on the brink of joining Pep Guardiola's side, with personal terms reportedly agreed between the two parties.
