The Spanish sensation lit up the team’s latest training session ahead of their clash with Italian side Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Sunday, August 10.

Lamine Yamal embarrasses Barcelona teammate
During a drill, Yamal found himself under pressure from left-back Jofre Torrents.
With the confidence of a seasoned star, he pulled off the famous elastico, a move once made legendary by Ronaldinho, leaving Torrents momentarily wrong-footed.
The defender recovered quickly, spinning back into position, but Yamal wasn’t done.
With a quick shimmy, he sent Torrents tumbling to the ground before whipping in a cross.
The goalkeeper managed to collect it, capping off what was a special, if not magical, sequence.

The moment, captured in a video shared on Barcelona’s official X page, spread quickly online, sparking a wave of fan reactions.

Speaking to YEN.com.gh about Yamal’s prospects for the new season, Awal Mohammed Hudu of Kessben Media said:
"Lamine Yamal has been in scintillating form during preseason and can only improve from here. If he remains grounded, avoids injuries, and manages his off-field lifestyle well, the 2025/26 season could be his breakout year, with the potential to become the youngest-ever Ballon d'Or winner."

It's a stat that explains why so many already see him as the frontrunner for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, according to GOAL.
He will be hoping to bring the same magic when Barcelona faces Como in this year’s Joan Gamper Trophy.
The traditional curtain-raiser is played every August, just before the La Liga season begins.
Last year’s edition ended in disappointment for the Catalans with a 3-0 defeat to AS Monaco.
That loss, however, sparked a resurgence under Hansi Flick, as the team went on to claim a historic treble: La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España.

This term, Barcelona head into this fixture in fine form, having scored 15 and conceded just four goals during their preseason tour of Asia.
Standing in their way is Como, managed by former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
His side has been flawless in preseason, winning all four matches against high-quality opposition: Asian champions Al Ahly, French side LOSC Lille, Dutch giants Ajax, and Spain’s Real Betis.
