Chelsea Remove 9 Players from Website Amid Plans for Major Squad Clearout

  • Chelsea have removed nine current players from their official website, raising fresh doubts about their futures at the club
  • The move comes amid a major squad overhaul under new manager Enzo Maresca, who is reshaping a bloated roster
  • Despite still being contracted, the affected players have been effectively frozen out as the club signals they are no longer part of its plans

Nine Chelsea players still contracted to the club have been quietly removed from the official website, raising questions about their future at Stamford Bridge.

The move adds to the growing uncertainty surrounding their roles under new head coach Enzo Maresca.

Since taking charge in 2024, Maresca has initiated sweeping changes to streamline a squad overloaded with unwanted players.

Chelsea have already offloaded eight first-team names this summer - among them Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with more exits expected before the transfer window slams shut.

Now, the Blues have made a bold statement by scrubbing these players from their online roster, leaving little doubt about their standing in Maresca’s plans.

Which players are removed from Chelsea's website

Sterling, once a star for both Liverpool and Manchester City, appears to be among those Chelsea are actively looking to sell. His exclusion from the official team list suggests the club sees no future for him at Stamford Bridge.

Joining him on the missing list are striker Armando Broja and midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, both reportedly close to sealing transfers to Burnley.

Academy product Alfie Gilchrist is also not listed. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and is now reportedly drawing interest from Championship sides and Saudi Arabian clubs.

Ben Chilwell, signed from Leicester City for a reported £45 million in 2020, is another high-profile omission. New boss Enzo Maresca has reportedly sidelined him, raising speculation over his future.

Is Mudryk on Chelsea's Website?

Interestingly, Mykhailo Mudryk remains listed on Chelsea’s official website, but he's the only player still pictured in last season’s kit.

Mudryk is currently facing a potential four-year suspension after being charged by the FA for breaching anti-doping rules.

The Ukrainian winger reportedly failed a test back in November and has been out of competitive action since. However, Mudryk insists he did not knowingly consume any banned substance.

"I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance," Mudryk said at the time.
"This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.
