Partey arrives in court for the first time
His appearance marks the first time he has been seen at court since being formally charged on July 4 with six counts of sexual offences involving multiple women.
As the cameras clicked and reporters jostled for coverage outside the courthouse, Partey maintained a composed expression while making his way through the entrance.

His legal representative, Jenny Wiltshire, previously reaffirmed his position in a public statement shared with the media.
“Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name,” she said.
The charges against him surfaced just days after his contract with English club Arsenal expired, officially bringing his five-year spell with the Gunners to a close, as noted by The Sun.
Although Tuesday’s court session marked the beginning of the legal proceedings, the road ahead appears long and uncertain.
According to Sky Sports, a full trial may not commence until 2026, suggesting the legal matter could remain unresolved for quite some time.
Partey granted bail, faces long legal battle
Thomas Partey’s court session on August 5 marked a significant step in what is shaping up to be one of the most high-profile legal battles involving a Ghanaian footballer.
After confirming his identity before the magistrate, the former Premier League star was granted conditional bail. Restrictions include staying away from the complainants, informing authorities of any changes to his address, and seeking approval for international travel. These terms are designed to ensure compliance while the legal process unfolds.
The courtroom itself was tightly secured, with heightened media presence and legal observers noting the seriousness of the case. Despite the heavy attention, Partey appeared calm but reserved, speaking only when asked by the magistrate. Outside the court, reactions were mixed, some expressing concern over the charges, while others stood in support of the midfielder’s right to a fair trial.
With his next hearing slated for September 2 at the Old Bailey, legal experts say the timeline suggests a lengthy judicial process ahead. A full trial may not commence until 2026, leaving Partey’s footballing career in limbo and sparking debate about whether clubs should sign players facing unresolved legal issues.

Partey on the verge of joining Villarreal
Away from the courtroom, Partey’s football journey looks set to continue in Spain.
Reports indicate that the midfielder has undergone a medical with Villarreal, with both parties working towards finalising a two-year contract.
The former Atlético Madrid star is believed to have also received interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
While Partey’s talent on the pitch is not in question, news of his potential arrival at Villarreal has stirred discomfort among sections of the fanbase.
The seriousness of the allegations he faces has clouded what would otherwise be considered a high-profile acquisition.
Borja Pena, president of Os Groc, Villarreal’s Madrid-based fan group, expressed concern about the signing and urged the club to consider public sentiment.
"I hope the club takes the fans’ opinion into account, as I believe this is not just a matter of improving the squad. However, whatever the outcome of the trial, if they sign him, most fans will not agree with it, even if he is ultimately found not guilty."
