Tributes are pouring in for Northern Irish footballer Aaron Moffett, who has sadly passed away following a serious road traffic accident.
The 38-year-old, from Knocknamuckley in County Armagh, was critically injured in a crash last month and had been hospitalised since the incident.

His death was confirmed by DUP MLA Jonathan Buckley, who described Moffett as a well-loved figure and paid tribute to his lasting impact both on and off the pitch.
He said:
"It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the passing of Aaron Moffett this evening. Since the accident on 12th July, countless prayers have been said on Aaron’s behalf.
"He was a man who made a profound impact on so many across so many walks of life. We are holding the entire Moffett, Robinson and Wright families and friends in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
"No words can adequately describe the deep sorrow we all feel at this difficult time."
Dollingstown FC mourn loss of club legend Aaron Moffett
Dollingstown FC has paid an emotional tribute to Aaron Moffett, describing him as the heart and soul of the club following his passing.
According to the BBC, the 38-year-old was a long-serving captain of the side for 13 years in the Playr-Fit NIFL Premier Intermediate League, before stepping into the role of club secretary, where he continued to contribute immensely to the team’s growth and success.
“It is with total sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron Moffett,” the club wrote in a heartfelt social media post. “Moff was simply Mr Dollingstown, loved by all.”
The statement celebrated his achievements on the field, his countless trophy wins, and the legacy he left behind as both a leader and administrator.
The club added:
“A total gentleman who we will never forget,” and urged the public to keep his family—Lindsey, John, Florence, and the wider family circle—in their thoughts and prayers.

Aaron Moffett's death comes barely after YEN.com.gh reported that a key eyewitness to the crash that claimed Diogo Jota’s life has disputed early police claims that speed was a factor.
According to the driver, Jota was not overspeeding when the incident occurred.
