Notwithstanding the excitement surrounding Yamal’s 18th birthday, the event was not without its controversies.
As reported by the BBC, the Euro 2024 winner is reportedly under scrutiny for hiring a group of entertainers with dwarfism.
The act has been criticised as "unacceptable in the 21st century" by the Association of People with Achondroplasia and other Skeletal Dysplasias in Spain (ADEE).
The Directorate General for People with Disabilities, part of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and the 2030 Agenda, confirmed that ADEE has filed a legal complaint regarding the matter.
Speaking to YEN.com.gh, sports personality Emmanuel Tuffour of Silver FM in Kumasi encouraged Yamal to continue enjoying life off the pitch, as long as he stays within the bounds of the law.
''My opinion is always that, players can enjoy their off days so far as they are not flouting any laws. So I have no issues with his lavish celebration as the dwarfes themselves have come out to say they were respected.''
