Kylian Mbappe Congratulates Former Club PSG After Historic Champions League Triumph

Paris Saint-Germain made history by clinching their first-ever UEFA Champions League title with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final held in Munich on May 31, 2025.

The emphatic win drew a heartfelt congratulatory message from their former star forward, Kylian Mbappe, now a key player at Real Madrid.

PSG win the Champions League in sytle

Paris Saint-Germain entered the Champions League final eager to claim the elusive trophy that had so far slipped through their fingers despite domestic dominance.

Facing a strong Inter Milan side, PSG delivered a masterclass performance, overwhelming their opponents with attacking flair and clinical finishing.

This victory was the crowning achievement for PSG’s project under Luis Enrique who also won the treble at Barcelona in 2024/15, per the Play Offs.

Former Inter Milan full-back Hakimi Achraf scored from close range in the 12th minute to put PSG ahead thanks to an assist from 19-year-old talent Desire Doue.

The French attacker then turned goal scorer eight minutes later with a composed finish to make it 2-0 for Luis Enrique's side.

Doue would go on to hit a superb brace in the 63rd with credit going to Vitinha for the assist before Kvicha Kvaratshelia and substitute Senny Mayulu sealed the big win with a goal each in the 73rd and 86th minutes.

Mbappe's heartfelt message to PSG

Despite moving on to a new chapter with Real Madrid, Mbappe showed great sportsmanship and respect towards his former club following their Champions League triumph.

On Instagram, and as seen on Mirror, he posted a message celebrating PSG’s historic victory:

“The big day has finally arrived, Victory and with the manner of a whole club, Congratulations, PSG.”

Mbappe himself has had several top Champions League moments including his recent hat-trick against Manchester City.

Mbappes' excellent individual season

Although Real Madrid didn’t win any trophies in the 2024/25 season, Mbappe impressed with 43 goals in 56 matches.

He earned the European Golden Shoe, La Liga Pichichi Trophy, and Real Madrid’s Player of the Season award.
