The crew members who died were Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The helicopter was heading to Obuasi for an official event when it reportedly lost contact shortly after taking off from Accra at 9:12 a.m.

Reacting to this on Accra-based Okay FM, MP Cudjoe-Ghansah expressed her sympathies to the bereaved families.

Although no investigative report on the cause of the crash has been released to the public, the Deputy Majority Chief Whip claimed the aircraft had exploded mid-air before falling into the thick forest.

"The helicopter did not crash; it exploded in the air before it fell to the ground. So all the people were burnt even before it landed on the ground. The parts of the helicopter were scattered all over the site, and the bodies were also scattered and burning," she said.
