Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has given reasons for supporting Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's bid to lead the New Patriotic Party in the 2028 elections instead of supporting Kennedy Agyapong.

The former Minister for Children, Gender, and Social Protection has two children with Kennedy Agyapong.

In a video on X, Adwoa Safo said there is a difference between politics and family issues. His comment suggested that she did not need to support Kennedy Agyapong because he is the father of her children.

Some NPP Members of Parliament who support Kennedy Agyapong picked nomination forms for him on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

The group of MPs was led by the MP for Obuasi West, Kwaku Kwarteng. Others who went with him include: Charles Forson of Tema West; Stephen Amoah, MP for Nhyiaeso; Lawrence Agyinsam, MP for Hemang Lower Denkyira, and Dr Alex Ampaabeng, a former Deputy Minister of Finance in the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration.

NPP finance gurus support Kennedy Agyapong

YEN.com.gh reported that Kennedy Agyapong formed a high-level finance and economy team ahead of the NPP flagbearer race.

The team includes ex-deputy ministers and respected economists like Dr Mark Assibey Yeboah and Kwaku Kwarteng.

Their decision to join the team showed a strong internal support for Agyapong’s 2028 presidential dream.
