Alhaji Muniru Lumuna Mohammed's family has visited the wreath-laying site of the recent helicopter crash victims to mourn their father.

The late minister's entourage, which comprised his kids and other relatives, was seen at the Jubilee House on August 8, two days after the gory helicopter crash in the Ashanti region claimed their father's life and seven others.

It is believed that Alhaji Muniru Lumuna would have turned a year older on August 8. Instead of birthday cakes and merriment, the family left flowers at the wreath-laying site amid tears.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the family of the late politician who was Ghana's acting Deputy National Security Coordinator offered Islamic prayers as they expressed their sorrows.

The late politician was once Ghana's Northern Regional Minister during the first term of President Mahama’s administration from 2012 to January 2017.

He has also served the country in roles such as the Minister of Food and Agriculture and a Minister of State in charge of the Human Resources Department and Scholarships at the Presidency.

How many people died in the helicopter crash

Eight people, including three military officers and five government officials, were involved in the fatal helicopter crash.

The fatalities included Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Dr Alhaji Murtala Muhammed, MP for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment, Science & Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Sarpong (Vice Chairman of the NDC), and Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate.

Military personnel Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah also perished.
