The New Patriotic Party (NPP) member of Parliament for Effiduase/Asokore, Nana Ayew Afriyie, has mourned the death of Edward Omane Boamah.
A close friend of the late minister, he recalled their close bond from childhood to medical school and Parliament.
“My cousin I will see no more. My heart is deeply troubled. Life oo Life! Kofi we made it together from home to Uni. We kept our bond from the 90s. Kofi was always in Commonwealth Hall with me, though a resident at Okponglo. In med school @ Korlebu, the scores were settled when we were allocated one room & we bonded in room B63. Politics has never separated us after school,” he said.
Afriyie said he heard the news of Omane Boamah’s death from the editor of an NPP-aligned newspaper, whom the late Minister helped immensely.
“Kofi, I am devastated! The Chief editor of an opposition newspaper you helped to the US for cancer treatment called this morning, as I am not in Ghana, to break the news to me. Doc, have you heard the news?” he wrote.
