Agyapong said he would break the record of Ghana's first President and Prime Minister, Osaegyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, who is regarded as the best Head of State in Ghana.
The NPP flagbearer hopeful also said he considered the former President as his role model and has therefore vowed to break his record.
"You see, I have role models, and these role models are pragmatists. When you look at the infrastructural framework of this country, nearly 60 per cent of it was completed by President Kwame Nkrumah in just nine years of his rule. From 1957 to 1966, and even up to now, we have not been able to match what he did," he added.
"I go round the country, and I see the things he achieved, which is why he is my role model. If there's a president whose record I want to beat, it's Dr Kwame Nkrumah. When you give me eight years, I will beat his record," he said.
Agyapong further explained that he is vying to become the President of Ghana because he believes the country needs a selfless, bold, decisive, and pragmatic leader.
