The action underscored the need for credible and lawful approaches to tackling galamsey, ensuring that efforts to protect Ghana's natural resources are genuine and effective.

The post about the presidential order is below:

President Mahama's directive comes days after a group, identified as Concerned Small-Scale Miners, alleged that some individuals purporting to be members of the anti-galamsey task force had been visiting their mining sites to cause disturbances.

The group also accused the NDC's National Organiser, Joseph Yammin, and Vice Chairman of the party, Yakubu Abanga, of being behind the persons impersonating the anti-galamsey task force.

NDC officials deny anti-galamsey task force allegations

Joseph Yammin and Yakubu Abanga have, however, denied the allegations leveled against them by the Concerned Small-Scale Miners.

In a Facebook post, Yammin claimed that he did not own a mining concession and was not behind the alleged fake anti-galamsey task force.

"I want to put on record: I have no hand in the said allegations been leveled at me. For the record, I am not part of any galamsey task force, neither have I been invited to even share ideas as to how to fight these illegal mining activities of some of these small scale miners.
"If there's any task force parading round with my name, the said group is operating illegally and must be resisted from their operations. The work of the task force is strictly enforced by the state security and not party directives," he wrote on Facebook.
"For the record, I am not a miner neither do I do mining nor own a concession. If anyone is impersonating me, that person or group of persons must be resisted or arrested. I urge the small-scale miners to leave me out of their issues and approach the right authorities to find a lasting solution to their problems. For the record, again, I am not involved in any such operations," he added.
