The murder of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) officer Stephen King Amoah has left his family and colleagues devastated, as they continue to seek justice for his tragic death.

YEN.com.gh had earlier reported that Officer Amoah’s remains were found in a gruesome state on July 9, 2025, partially burnt and wrapped in a woolen carpet. He was found in a gutter near the Abuom Junction, close to Comet Estate in Accra.
His body had been missing for five days before being discovered under disturbing circumstances, sparking widespread shock and anger.
Bright Aweh, the prime suspect in the case, was arrested and charged with the murder of the 38-year-old officer.

Apart from being the last known individual to contact Amoah, forensic evidence, including bloodstains found at Aweh’s residence, linked him directly to the crime, leading to his apprehension.
Another suspect, Thomas Zigah, has also been arrested, and investigations are ongoing as police continue to search for additional individuals connected to the murder.
Aweh’s alleged involvement in the horrific crime has left the family of the late officer grappling with grief and disbelief.
Amoah's Brother-in-law speaks on his death
Speaking out during the ongoing court proceedings, the brother-in-law of Stephen King Amoah has expressed a firm stance on the case.

According to him, if the initial suspect, Bright, is found guilty of taking Amoah's life, he should be sentenced to life imprisonment.
In his words:
“If Bright Aweh is found guilty after this court case, I want the court to sentence him to life imprisonment."

Tensions have been high throughout the proceedings, particularly on August 22, 2025, when members of the Amoah family threatened retaliation outside the Adabraka District Court.
Their anger was fueled by what they perceived as delays in the legal process, with accusations that the police were shielding the suspects from the full extent of justice.
“If any member of our family is harmed or justice is not served, we will take matters into our own hands,” the brother-in-law of the late officer warned.
