In a post on his Facebook page on August 21, 2025, the firebrand activist clarified the incident. He first remarked that the nurse claiming to have suffered a dislocated shoulder was not the one in the footage.

He then stated that the individual in the footage was a different nurse who took issue with him recording the events happening in the ward and warned him not to record.

Health Minister defends handshake with Ralph

The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has defended his decision to exchange pleasantries with Ralph St. William, who has been accused of being the mastermind behind the assault on a nurse at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.

Speaking to journalists at a press conference on Thursday, 21st August, Akandoh maintained that the handshake between himself and Ralph was not, in any way, an endorsement of the unfortunate incident involving Ralph St. William.

The minister then explained that the cordial moment was not going against the government's quest for accountability.

A committee has already been set up to investigate the assault, with the minister pledging to ensure anyone found to have violated the law will be brought to book.

Reactions to Ralph's comments

Social media users who took to the comments section of the video have shared opinions on Ralph's comments regarding new CCTV footage.

KWAME AHUN commented:

"Yesterday, I heard on OB's mid-afternoon show, 'EKOSISEN,' that Ralph beat a nurse and dislocated her shoulder at Ridge Hospital. I was like, when and how did he do this in the presence of the police and all the people I saw in the video? There and then, I knew something was brewing against Ralph. The truth shall always prevail."

Alice Afrane indicated:

"Mr. stop your acting. The nurses weren’t sitting idle; they were working on patients, and you think you are more important than them?"

SerRom Gh wrote:

"I will always commend Kasoa Polyclinic!! Wow!! I remember going there with my younger brother, who had been knocked down by a car. They started treatment even before asking us to go get a card, and even bought the medicines themselves before coming to me and assisting me to get the card and pay for the medicines later."
