A statement issued on Sunday, August 10, 2025, and signed by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Presidential Envoy, outlined what the directive seeks to achieve at length, including the regulation of prophecies relating to high-profile political leaders, security, or public stability.
Reacting to this development, Prophet Moses Bennisan said such a directive is biblically sound and a necessary step towards ensuring order and accountability in the prophetic ministry.

Prophet Bennisan weighs in on prophecies directive
Speaking in an exclusive interview with YEN.com.gh, Prophet Bennisan argued that the scrutiny of prophecies is not an attack on the spiritual gift but a divine command for believers.
In his words:
"Revelation must bring clarification. In the absence of clarification, there must be an evaluation. It is the evaluation that gives the clarification."
The prophet firmly anchored his support in scripture, quoting Thessalonians 1 chapter 5, verses 19-21, which read:
"Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophetic utterance. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good."
According to the prophet, the true mandate of prophecy is threefold: to exhort, comfort, and encourage.
"Prophecy must not end on a note of doom, on a note of destruction, on a note of disaster," he stated. "Every prophecy must at the end of the day point to Jesus Christ."
Prophet Bennisan also highlighted the practical benefits of the new office. He noted the immense difficulty an ordinary man of God would face trying to get a prophecy to a high-ranking official or the president.

He sees the office as a structured and accessible channel for genuine prophets to convey urgent messages without the usual bureaucratic hurdles.
He concluded by framing the review process as a partnership between divine revelation and human responsibility.
"God reveals so we can repent, so he can redeem," he explained. "When God reveals, you take action. You don't sit down and say, 'Oh, God reveals to redeem so God himself will do it.' No. When God reveals, you take action, you do something about it."
