Ridge Hospital Buys New Phone for Nurse Reportedly Assaulted by Ralph, Presentation Photos Evoke Joy

The management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital, has offered to the nurse who was reportedly assaulted by firebrand activist Ralph St. Williams on August 18.
A Facebook post on the hospital’s official page on August 20 stated that the management had gifted a new mobile phone to the nurse after she lost her old one during a mob attack at the Emergency Unit.

The management also gave her an undisclosed amount and vowed to support her in every stage of her recovery.
The presentation was done by the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Leslie Issa Adam-Zakariah, and other top officials of the hospital.
"WE STAND WITH OUR OWN! Management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital has presented a new mobile phone, a cash amount of GH₵800 (to replace what she lost), as well as an additional undisclosed cash support to the rotation nurse who was assaulted during the recent mob attack at the Emergency Unit. Management further wished her a speedy recovery and assured her of their continued support and concern for her well-being", the post read.

Nurse shares her encounter
The nurse has meanwhile spoken about the unfortunate incident that happened when Ralph and some individuals stormed the hospital.
Detailing what happened, the nurse stated that Ralph came to the hospital with certain demands, expecting preferential treatment.
She explained that the activist became upset after his request for immediate attention was not met, as staff followed standard procedures and protocols.

Health ministry condemns attack
The Ministry of Health has condemned in no uncertain terms the attack on health professionals at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital by activist Ralph St. Williams.
In a statement on the matter, the ministry indicated that investigations were ongoing into the circumstances.

Ralph St Williams denies attacking nurse
