A Ghanaian man came online to praise his former Primary 3 teacher after four decades of seeing each other in the classroom.

In a video spotted by YEN.com.gh, Nii Drolor Okweesi-Acquah Gideon, a proud alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), joyfully reconnected with his class teacher after four decades.
The Ghanaian man, who was among the KNUST class of 1997, was so emotional when he met with the teacher, identified as Mr Daniel Adjetey Adjei.
The meeting brought back memories of his early years at Ampoma Anglican Basic School, where the middle-aged teacher taught him.

Nii Drolor expressed deep gratitude to his teacher, crediting him for instilling discipline, mentorship.

According to him, those values he received from the teacher later shaped his life and contributed to his achievements.
He said in admiration:
“This is the man who taught me in class three, primary three at Ampoma Anglican. Such a disciplined teacher. Through his guidance and mentorship, today we have also been able to get this far.”
The KNUST alumnus went on to urge other teachers and caregivers to see their role as more than academic instruction.
He added:
“Please, don't ever be deceived. Once you train a child so well, they grow up to become useful people in society, and at the end of the day, we all benefit.”

Meanwhile, Ghanaian journalist Umaru Sanda Amadu paid tribute to his former basic school teacher, Mr Affor, in a heartfelt social media post.

YEN.com.gh had reported that earlier in February, the TV broadcaster returned to his village to honour his childhood teachers by gifting each of them a flat-screen smart television and cash.
A month later, he singled out Mr Affor for special praise, recalling how the teacher played an important role in his academic and personal growth.
Sanda explained that although he had always been considered smart, it was in Primary 3, under the guidance of Mr Affor, that he truly began to flourish.
He recalled how the teacher, who taught Primary 6 at the time, often invited him to his class to answer questions senior students struggled with.
According to the journalist, beyond academics, Mr Affor also took a personal interest in his well-being, even ensuring that Sanda obtained his birth certificate.
Ghanaian teacher rejected by GAF celebrates achievement
YEN.com.gh had earlier reported that a Ghanaian teacher identified as Mawuli Bruce was rejected by the Ghana Armed Forces for exceeding the officer cadet age limit.
Despite the setback, Bruce pursued his dream abroad and eventually joined the United States Air Force.
On July 27, 2025, Bruce defied odds and graduated as an Airman First Class in the US Air Force at 42.
