The team of Automobile Engineering students at KNUST combined their knowledge to create an electric bicycle described as environmentally sustainable.

According to the university, the electric bicycle was designed to handle Ghana's delivery system.

An electric bicycle (e-bike) works like a normal bicycle but comes with an electric motor and battery that assist pedalling.

The motor kicks in when you pedal (pedal-assist) or, in some models, via a throttle, reducing the physical effort required.

Ghanaian innovator showcases creative treadmill

Meanwhile, in a related development, a young Ghanaian auto mechanic trended on TikTok after inventing a treadmill made from recycled materials.

Painted in green, yellow, and white, the manual treadmill requires no electricity and allows users to walk or run in place.

Its design includes handrails, a motor, and a belt activated by movement.

Though smaller than commercial models and still needing refinements, the invention highlights the creator’s resourcefulness.

A voice in the video urged the government, investors, and benevolent individuals to support him in developing his talent further.
