The midwifery and law fraternities have been thrown into mourning after news broke that Adelheid Babatz Nyarko London, the Ghanaian midwife who became a lawyer in May 2025, had died.

News of her death went viral on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after reports indicated that she passed away following a short illness.

The young lawyer and midwife, who was very active on social media, made her last social media post on TikTok on August 5, 2025.

In the post, she shared pictures of herself and her little puppy, accompanied by Kofi Kinaata's song “Thy Grace.”

Her post was followed by a deeply moving caption which read:

“Everything is in the lyrics.”

Kofi Kinaata’s song opened up about betrayal and naysayers who wished others nothing but doom.

Before her passing, Adelheid served as a Senior Midwife Officer at St. Michael’s Catholic Hospital in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

Adelheid’s journey to becoming a lawyer

She explained in an interview that she faced a setback in her legal education due to health challenges that affected her studies while pursuing a law degree.

“Because of the ups and downs and the stress, I had issues with my health. So I couldn't pass Part One,” Adelheid revealed in an interview with YFM Kumasi.

The young lady, who was a pharmacist, reportedly passed away in a gory accident on Monday, January 20, 2025.
