Sarpomaah, the daughter of Samuel Sarpong, one of the victims of the helicopter crash, has paid an emotional tribute to her father after her burial.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, she took to her official TikTok page to share a video from the recent state funeral held for her late father and the other seven victims of the tragic incident at the Black Stars Square.

The footage showed the moments she and her siblings bid farewell to their father after his casket was lowered into his grave at the Burma Camp Military Cemetery in Accra on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Samuel Sarpong's daughter Sarpomaah also accompanied the video with a heartbreaking message to honour the memory of her late father, writing:

"It's hard to say goodbye, but we know you are at peace. We will cherish your memory forever. We love you forever, daddy❤️👼🕊️🕊️."

Sarpomaah's emotional tribute to her late father evoked sadness among many Ghanaians, who mourned with her and offered words of comfort to her and her family.

Samuel Sarpong, others perish in helicopter crash

Samuel Sarpong, who was a Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and seven others were involved in a tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Among the eight victims of the unfortunate incident were two cabinet ministers of the current John Dramani Mahama-led government, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna and Deputy Director-General in charge of protocol at NADMO were also top officials who died in the helicopter crash.

Three members of the Ghana Armed Forces were also among the casualties of the tragic accident, which happened in a forest at Adansi Sikaman, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

Six of the eight victims were buried at the Military cemetery on Friday, August 15, 2025 after their funeral at the Black Stars Square.

Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed and acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, who were Muslims, had earlier been buried at the same cemetery on August 10.
