The late Defence Minister was spotted at an event looking all cheerful a day before the tragic helicopter accident, which claimed his life and that of seven others.
Dr Omane Boamah was in the company of Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of Government Communications, walking together at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.

The two were reportedly attending the Africa Health Sovereignty Summit on August 5, 2025. Dr Omane Boamah was dressed in a sleek black suit, with a soft white shirt beneath.
He added a touch of warmth to his look with a yellow tie, creating a balance of elegance and brightness.

Dr Omane Boamah always had a cheerful demeanour, despite his position as the Defence Minister. He greeted the content creator with a broad smile as the person attempted to capture footage of them.
However, it was clear that Mr. Kwakye Ofosu wasn’t entirely comfortable with the idea of being filmed, so they both walked away to the event centre.

Eight perish in GAF helicopter crash
Eight people, including two prominent government personalities, were the victims of a Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash which occurred on August 6, 2025.
The two top government officials were the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
Aside from these, the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru, former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Samuel Sarpong, and former legislator Samuel Aboagye, were involved in the crash.

Three army personnel, namely Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, were also on board.
Squadron Leader Anala was the pilot carrying the team of eight to Obuasi. Until his demise, he was a commissioned officer rank in the air forces, specifically above Flight Lieutenant and below Wing Commander.
