Popular broadcaster, Oheneni Adazoa, has heavily descended on Mariama, a woman purporting to be the first love of the late musician Daddy Lumba.

Speaking during her show on Sompa FM/TV, the broadcaster called out Mariama for opening up about her supposed relationship with the highlife icon.

Oheneni Adazoa found Mariama’s remarks unnecessary and questioned why she remained silent until the music legend had passed away.

She argued that it was unnecessary to make such claims when Ghanaians, and especially Daddy Lumba’s family, are mourning his loss.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the woman, who identified herself as Mariama Osmane, shared how she met Daddy Lumba and how their love story ended.

She noted that the musician dedicated his hit song Mariama to her and reunited with her some years ago when the music legend became a star.

She also stated that she had met Daddy Lumba in school when they were both students of the Suame Methodist Middle School in the Ashanti Region.

According to her, they loved each other dearly and supported themselves while in school. Mariama wept as she recounted how she had no option but to part ways with Daddy Lumba after they completed their studies at the school.

She also noted that the late musician asked her to leave her photo with him and his with her, so that they could remember each other. However, they did not meet each other until later in their lives, when all of them had moved on.

In response to her, Oheneni Adazoa was upset with Mariama and said her remarks were unnecessary.

Right emotions, wrong timing

Speaking exclusively to YEN.com.gh, a Ghanaian counsellor, Seyram Avortri, expressed his views on Mariama's action.

"As a counsellor, I believe Mariama's decision to speak about her past relationship with Daddy Lumba shortly after his passing may have been personally meaningful, but it would have been more respectful and healing to wait until the family and fans had space to grieve," he said.

Die-hard Daddy Lumba fan reportedly dies

Earlier, YEN.com.gh also reported that an ardent fan of Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba had reportedly passed away following the death of the music icon.

According to viral social media reports, Emmanuel Kumah collapsed after learning about the musician's death and was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
