A woman claiming to be the first love of Daddy Lumba has surfaced after the demise of the Ghanaian music legend.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the woman, who identified herself as Mariama Osmane, shared how she met Daddy Lumba and how their love story ended.

She noted that Daddy Lumba dedicated his hit song 'Mariama' to her and reunited with her some years ago when the music legend became a star.
Mariama stated that she met Daddy Lumba in school when they were both students of the Suame Methodist Middle School in the Ashanti Region.

"We were very close. Kwadwo Fosu was very intelligent. He supported me, and I supported him too. Because of how close we were, one of our teachers, Mr Adu Bekoe, once told us that we might complete school and not see each other again," she said.
True to Mr Adu Bekoe's words, the lovers completed school and, for many years, did not see each other.
Daddy Lumba's death resurrects many past issues
Daddy Lumba's death has resurrected so many buried issues. The famous musician passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital.

Before his demise, he made the world aware of Theresa Abebrese, his former girlfriend, who played an instrumental role in his life. While many believed Theresa was Lumba's first love, Mariama disputes the claim, stating that she met Daddy Lumba before Theresa.
During her interview, Mariama stated that her relationship with Daddy Lumba ended when they completed their studies at the school. They nurtured hopes of meeting each other again, but this seemed like a hopeless dream.

"So we exchanged photos. He told me to give him photos I took in school, and he gave me his, so that we can remember each with them," she stated.

Mariama reunites with Daddy Lumba
Speaking further, Mariama stated that she reconnected with Daddy Lumba on the phone many years after he became famous in the country.
"One day I heard from him. Suddenly. And he told me that he had used my name in a song. He shared the song with me and promised to perform it with me on stage if he comes to Kumasi, but that never happpened," she stated.
We kept in touch. He sometimes called me and I called him too. But on the fateful day he passed, I was at my shop when a young man broke the news to me. Initially, I did not believe it, but when I took my phone and went online, I confirmed the news,"she recalled amid sobs.
Mariama stated that she was deeply broken by Daddy Lumba's death.
