The family of veteran highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has officially informed Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of the passing of the late musician.
Photos and a video sighted on the Facebook page of Opemsuo FM showed Daddy Lumba’s family head, Kofi Owusu, at the Manhyia Palace, clad in black, informing the King of the musician's passing

The Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta stated that Otumfuo had given the family permission to go ahead with the funeral arrangements and keep him informed of the decisions made.
Details of Daddy Lumba's passing
The death of Daddy Lumba was confirmed by the legal representative of the musician in a statement on Saturday, July 26, 2026.
Daddy Lumba, who produced over 60 albums, passed away at the age of 60 at the Bank Hospital located in Cantonments, Accra, after a brief illness.
Ghanaians, in a show of solidarity, have sympathised with the family of the late musician.

Notable names who have visited the residence of the late Daddy Lumba to show their support to the grieving family during this difficult moment include former Presidents Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, John Agyekum Kufor, Osei Kwame Despite, Kwaku Oteng, and NPP Members of Parliament such as Afenyo Markins.
Other dignitaries who have also offered their support include Becca, Kojo Antwi, John Dumelo, Amakye Dede, Obaapa Christy, and Daughters of Glorious Jesus, among others.
