The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has joined the list of prominent dignitaries to visit the residence of the Ghanaian highlife legend to sympathise with the grieving family.
Videos, which have since gone viral, show the moment the Chairman was seen interacting with media personnel, where he indicated that his all-time favourite Daddy Lumba song was "111666" and even sang a line from the track.

Describing Daddy Lumba as a personal friend, Wontumi eulogised the late 60-year-old for the impact he made on the music industry.
Another video showed him having a hearty moment with media personnel where he made a rendition of his now-popular catchphrase "Ghanafuo Monsoree."
This time, he urged Ghanaians to listen to the songs of the late Daddy Lumba, adding that such songs were applicable to everyday life.

Daddy Lumba's demise
Daddy Lumba died at the Bank Hospital at Cantonments in Accra after a brief illness on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
The death of the 60-year-old was announced by his legal representative in an official press statement on that same day.
In honouring the life of the highlife legend, the creative arts industry on Saturday, August 2, will hold a vigil at the Independence Square in Accra.
A Book of Condolence has also been opened at his private residence in East Legon.
Notable individuals who showed solidarity by going to the house of the late musician to express sympathy to his family include Kennedy Agyapong, Kwabena Kwabena, Kojo Antwi, Becca, and Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, among others.
Daddy Lumba was grateful
In a comment to YEN.com.gh, Mahamuda Halidu, an employee of Daddy Lumba who worked at DLFM 106.9, opened up about his experience with him, labelling him as one who always showed gratitude.
He therefore expressed his pain that such a kind man is no more.
"He was a very grateful person, and such people are rare to come by. So I’m deeply hurt by his passing, but God knows best," he told YEN.com.gh.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that businessman Kennedy Agyapong could not control his tears when he visited Daddy Lumba's residence to sympathise with the grieving family.
A video, which has gone viral, showed Kennedy Agyapong, a close friend of the late legendary musician, shedding tears as he left Lumba's plush East Legon residence after his visit.
Attempts by media personnel for a quick interview failed as he walked off, wiping tears from his eyes.
