An Ashanti youth group calling itself Asante Wɔ Dɔm has issued a stern warning to Kevin Taylor not to set foot in any town in the Ashanti Region, especially Kumasi.
The group's warning follows claims by the US-based Ghanaian journalist that he would soon visit the town and pay homage to some relatives living in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking at a press conference, the group, made up of some youth and elderly indigenes of the Ashanti Region, told Taylor that he was not needed in the region.
"We have banished you and we do not need you here. If you have been given a place to stay in Accra, that's okay, but don't set foot in Kumasi," the group said.
Kevin Taylor claims he is in Kumasi

Why is the group warning Kevin Taylor?
The youth group and many Ashantis are upset with Taylor because the Ghanaian socialite, on several occasions, disrespected their revered King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The controversial US-based commentator and journalist, while residing abroad, made several derogatory remarks about the Asantehene, often seen as unprovoked.
Many Ashanti youth groups registered their displeasure with his actions and demanded he put an immediate stop to it, warning of dire consequences, but Taylor did not budge.
Fast forward to months later when he arrived back in Ghana after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won the 2024 general elections, vowing to visit the Ashanti Region.
