Roman Fada's political ambition

Roman Fada, a Ghanaian media personality and the late Akua Donkor's vice-presidential running mate, was selected as the presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) following her death in October 2024.

The party announced after the Electoral Commission gave them a 10-day window to name a replacement.

Roman Fada’s nomination was influenced by both internal party consultations and Akua Donkor’s prior endorsement of him as her preferred successor.

However, in November 2024, the Electoral Commission disqualified Roman Fada from the 2024 general elections due to errors and irregularities in his nomination documents. As a result, the Ghana Freedom Party was unable to contest the election.
