Ghanaian media personality Bright Kankam Boadu, alias BKB, has caused a stir after a video of him paying tribute to highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, surfaced online.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok page of @smmartmedi, the award-winning journalist, reacting to the demise of Daddy Lumba, expressed pain, saying Ghana had lost a great icon.

He suggested that in celebrating his life and legacy, the birthday of Daddy Lumba should be made a national holiday.

Bright Kankam Boadu then urged Parliament to consider his suggestion, insisting that people like Daddy Lumba also deserve such honours.

"In celebrating his life and legacy, the birthday of Daddy Lumba should be made a holiday," he suggested.

Co-hosts who were on the show agreed with him on the suggestion that the birthday of Daddy Lumba should be made a holiday.

Bright Kankam Boadu also opined that a single selected venue would not be large enough to host the funeral of Daddy Lumba.

He then added it would be best if people held small ceremonies across the country to celebrate the life of the music icon.
