Ghana's entertainment industry has planned a global candlelight vigil to honour deceased music legend, Daddy Lumba.
In a statement sighted by YEN.com.gh, the Creative Arts Industry extended an invitation to the public to attend the ceremony slated for August 2025.

"Your presence will not only honour the legacy of an icon but also unite us in celebrating the power of music, culture and community, the statement said.

Daddy Lumba passes away
Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba is dead. His heartbreaking demise was announced on Saturday, July 26, 2025. He reportedly succumbed at the Bank Hospital after a short illness. He was 60 years old.
Date, venue and time for Lumba's vigil
The statement, signed by Gideon Aryeequaye, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency (CAA), inviting the public said the vigil will take off on August 2, 2025. It will happen at Independence Square from 6:00 PM to 10: 00 PM.

Providing further details, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency stated that the event will be held concurrently in Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Persons interested are expected to RSVP by July 31, 2025.

Daddy Lumba's mansions surface after his demise
In a related development, YEN.com.gh reported that videos showing the houses in Ghana and the United Kingdom (UK), owned by the late Ghanaian musician, Daddy Lumba, have surfaced after his death.
The highlife legend, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, according to a statement from his family.
