It was all joy when President John Dramani Mahama came face to face with Kofi Atta Mills, the only surviving son of the late former President John Evans Atta Mills.
The encounter happened today, July 24, 2025, during the 13th anniversary wreath-laying ceremony for the late President, John Evans Atta Mills, at Asomdwee Park in Accra.

A video, which has since gone viral and was sighted by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok page of @ghbrain, captured the moment President Mahama arrived at the event and was seen exchanging pleasantries with some individuals.

The video of the adorable moment, which highlighted the close connection between Mahama and the son of his former boss, was captioned:
"President John Dramani Mahama exchanged pleasantries with Kofi Atta Mills, his wife, and the family of the late President John Evans Atta Mills during the 13th-anniversary wreath-laying ceremony held in honor of the late president."
Bigwigs from the National Democratic Congress who attended the event included Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, among others.
Atta Mills' sister makes a passionate appeal
Meanwhile, the sister of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, Ahema Quarshie, pleaded with President John Mahama to refurbish the John Evans Atta Mills Presidential Library in the Central Region.

Atta Mills' son and his family
The young couple also attended the event with their two kids.
A video sighted by YEN.com.gh showed the moment Michelle Atta Mills held hands with her two children, a boy and a girl, while Kofi Atta Mills held a heart-shaped wreath as they walked on the red carpet to the Asomdwe Park.
Accompanying them was Ahema Quarshie, the sister of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, who also held a separate wreath and led the family to her late brother's site.

Kofi Atta Mills' little son was later seen helping out his father by carrying the wreath, which they gently laid down on a white, cross-like stand.

Mahama appoints Mugabe to the TOR board
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Mugabe Saifu Maase had been appointed by President John Mahama as a member of the new Board of Directors for the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).
John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, officially inaugurated the TOR board members on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
He emphasised the board's role in revamping the refinery's operations and returning it to profitability.
