Princess Fathia Nkrumah, the granddaughter of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has turned heads online after she made a rare public appearance.

The young lady who has largely kept her life private and away from public scrutiny caught attention with a thoughtful social media post shared on TikTok on July 4, 2025.

Wearing a broad smile, Fathia was seen admiring the beautiful morning scenery, after which she shared a motivational message with her followers.

"Hello there, isn’t it such a beautiful day? Fresh air, sun is out, go take a walk, clear your head, it would be good, I promise," she said, wearing a bright smile."

The 14-second video has since gone viral, with many confessing they had no idea she was related to Ghana’s first President.

Fathia Nkrumah marks Independence Anniversary

In March 2024, Fathia Nkrumah joined other nationals to mark Independence Day, commemorating the date when Ghana officially secured independence from its colonial masters. The day is also observed as the nation’s birthday, celebrating the birth of a free and sovereign Ghana.

She posted pictures showing the moment she paid a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.

The beautiful model wore a colourful kente, its vibrant hues matching those of Ghana's flag.

Fathia Nkrumah then eulogised her grandfather for the role he played in ensuring Ghana gained its independence from the British.

"As we mark the 67th year of Ghana’s independence from colonial rule, many of us remain unsure of our nation’s fate. May we find the passion and urgency in our hearts to work towards safeguarding a brighter future. Let us not forget the words of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the true values upon which this nation was built," she wrote.

Acting career of Princess Fathia Nkrumah

The granddaughter of Kwame Nkrumah is also making strides in her acting career.

Despite Princess Fathia studying acting at the prestigious Identity School of Acting (IDSA), founded in London, she also holds a Law degree from Lancaster University and The Open University.

The 29-year-old has starred in a variety of productions ranging from stage plays to movies and series.

Notable among the productions she has featured in, both in Ghana and abroad, are critically acclaimed shows such as Living With Trisha, V-Republic, Shampaign, and Dede.

She also starred in other films like Little Problems, The Curfew, SingleNotSearching, Dynamite, and The Fisherman.

Princess Fathia, in 2022, produced her movie, The Kids Are Not All Right.

As an actress, she has starred in many high-profile movies alongside Eddie Watson Jr., Toosweet Annan, Osas Ighodaro, Chioma Akpotha, Sika Osei, Toyin Abraham, Mawuli Gavor, and others.

Her resilience and growth in the movie industry have been acknowledged and rewarded when, in 2022, she was named the Discovery of the Year at the prestigious Women’s Choice Awards Africa, hosted in Ghana.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy eulogised Kwame Nkrumah in 2024 on what would have been the revolutionary leader's 115th birthday.
