Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has been granted bail to the tune of GH¢10 million with two sureties by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), according to his manager, Sammy Flex.

Shatta Wale granted bail after EOCO detention
Shatta Wale was detained on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after he voluntarily reported to EOCO for interrogation over a yellow Lamborghini Urus he recently acquired.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, Sammy Flex explained that both the artiste’s management and legal team were working to meet the bail requirements by Thursday, August 21, 2025.
He further disclosed that the ongoing investigation was linked to tax obligations on the luxury vehicle as well as broader concerns about how Shatta Wale manages his business operations.
Background of the EOCO and Shatta Wale saga
The saga began in July 2025, when EOCO officials seized Shatta Wale's yellow Lamborghini Urus. The vehicle was impounded over alleged tax evasion and improper documentation after checks showed it had not fully cleared the necessary processes with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
EOCO soon confirmed in a statement on its website that it had placed Shatta Wale under official investigation, focusing on money laundering, possession of suspected criminal proceeds, tax fraud, and tax evasion.
