He further disclosed that the ongoing investigation was linked to tax obligations on the luxury vehicle as well as broader concerns about how Shatta Wale manages his business operations.

Background of the EOCO and Shatta Wale saga

The saga began in July 2025, when EOCO officials seized Shatta Wale's yellow Lamborghini Urus. The vehicle was impounded over alleged tax evasion and improper documentation after checks showed it had not fully cleared the necessary processes with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

EOCO soon confirmed in a statement on its website that it had placed Shatta Wale under official investigation, focusing on money laundering, possession of suspected criminal proceeds, tax fraud, and tax evasion.

By August 6, 2025, the probe had intensified, drawing the attention of both local and international agencies. Reports even suggested collaboration between EOCO and the FBI, further heightening speculation about the depth of the case.

Shatta Wale’s purple Lamborghini lands in Ghana

YEN.com.gh reported that Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has once again captured social media buzz after his brand-new purple Lamborghini Urus touched down in Ghana.

The luxury SUV, shipped from the United States, arrived at the Tema Port on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, where it was seen being carefully unloaded from its container. Videos of the car’s arrival quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans and critics alike.

The new arrival comes just weeks after Wale announced in June 2025 that he had placed an order for a second Lamborghini to expand his growing fleet of high-end vehicles. However, the timing has stirred conversations, as it coincides with the ongoing EOCO investigation into his finances, triggered by the recent seizure of his yellow Lamborghini Urus over alleged tax and documentation issues.
