Daddy Lumba’s Family Sets Date for the Musician’s One-Week Observation After His Demise

The family of Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has announced the date for the deceased's one-week observation.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the head of the family, Kofi Owusu, addressed the media. The family head and his relatives visited the Manhyia Palace to officially inform Otumfuo Osei Tutu II about the music icon's death.
He noted that the family had decided to hold a one-week observation for the late Daddy Lumba on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Accra, following their meeting with the Asantehene.
Mr Kofi Owusu shared that the family had still not gotten a venue to hold the one-week celebration since the earlier one they got was too small to host the event.
The head of Daddy Lumba's family also noted that he and his relatives would communicate the venue for the late Daddy Lumba's one-week observation to the media when they successfully secure one.
In a subsequent interview with DL 106.9 FM, Mr Kofi Owusu also spoke about the family's meeting with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He noted that the family decided to hold a meeting with the Asantehene, the custodian of the Ashanti Kingdom, since the late Daddy Lumba was part of the Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta.
The late musician's family head also shared that the family would visit the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at his Palace in Accra to also officially inform him about their loss and seek permission to hold the one-week observation.
Mr Kofi Owusu also shared that he and his family members had initially secured a venue for the event but had to make a change after comparing it to Independence Square, where the Candle Night Vigil event was held on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Daddy Lumba's family head also announced that the burial service for the late musician would be held in Kumasi, based on the recommendation of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba's family head issued a warning to fan clubs and Ghanaian pastors after an encounter with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 4, 2025.
In a video, Mr Kofi Owusu shared a directive to Ghanaians and threatened to take legal action against any individual who would defy them.
