The celebrated highlife musician passed away at 60 on Saturday, July 26, 2025, with his family later releasing a public statement to announce the unfortunate news.
Daddy Lumba passed away at 60 at the Bank Hospital located at Cantonments in Accra after a brief illness. His death triggered sad reactions from many Ghanaians, including his colleagues and political figures.
Following the music icon's death, many prominent personalities, including Kojo Antwi, John Dumelo, Dr Osei Kwame Despite, Prophet Kumchacha, and many others, have visited his residence to commiserate with his grieving family.
As part of the memorial arrangements, Daddy Lumba's family also opened a Book of Condolence at the private residence for the guests.

Before his death, Daddy Lumba had publicly spoken about Mama Acheampong, who was his teacher during his years at the Juaben Senior High School in the Ejisu-Juaben District of the Ashanti Region in Ghana.
