Serwaa Pawpaw mourns Daddy Lumba

The Chinese content creator via her TikTok joined several Ghanaians and people from other nations around the world to pay tribute to the legendary Ghanaian highlife musician.

In a trending video, Serwaa was dressed in all black. Her short-sleeved dress had tiny white polka dots, and accentuated her slender figure.

The video depicted her holding a red silk scarf close to her chest as she recited an emotional poem in Twi where she cried out about the passing of the Obi Ate Me So Buo crooner.

"Something has happened to me . Something has happened to me. Daddy is gone. Lumba is gone," she said in the video.

After reciting her poem, she covered her face with the red silk scarf and began to cry.

Meanwhile, Ghanaians are in a state of mourning after learning about the passing of Daddy Lumba, who was reported dead in the early hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025.

According to a statement issued by lawyer Rita Ali Yallah on behalf of Daddy Lumba's family, the legendary musician passed on after battling a short illness.

Reactions to Serwaa Pawpaw mourning Daddy Lumba

Serwaa Pawpaw's tribute did not convince Ghanaians as they jokingly lashed out at her. Some used the Cynthia Ofori trend, while others told her in Twi to cut the fanfooling.

Others wondered how she could speak Twi so fluently and how long she had been living in the country.

King Promise shares emotional Daddy Lumba tribute

YEN.com.gh reported that afrobeats star King Promise paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba following his passing.

In a moving post on social media, the Terminator hitmaker said that he and the late icon had been planning a joint album just two months before his death. King Promise described Daddy Lumba as a true inspiration and shared how honoured he felt to have worked with him.
