Shatta Wale’s manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, was secretly captured at the premises of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Sammy Flex was seen at the premises of the financial crimes agency on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, amid viral online reports of Shatta Wale's arrest.

In a video taken by a social media user from a moving car, Wale’s manager could be seen standing outside the offices of EOCO, located on the High Street in Accra.

He appeared to be making a call and deep in thought.

The video appeared on social media at a time reports emerged that the agency had arrested the dancehall artist.

EOCO arrests Shatta Wale

According to the latest reports, EOCO detained Shatta Wale months after the agency seized his yellow Lamborghini on suspicion of being stolen in the United States.

Shatta Wale's manager, Sammy Flex, confirmed the news in a statement released on social media on the evening of Wednesday, August 20.

He said EOCO invited Shatta Wale on tax-related issues related to his yellow Lamborghini.

"The management of dancehall artist Shatta Wale (Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr.) is issuing this statement following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) today. This follows an inquiry related to tax obligations on the purchase of a yellow Lamborghini vehicle," the statement said.

Sammy Flex continued that Wale went to EOCO willingly, but had been detained and that his legal team was working to secure his freedom.

"Mr. Mensah presented himself voluntarily at the EOCO offices this afternoon, along with his lawyer Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations. We want to assure all fans and the general public that his legal team is fully engaged and actively working with the authorities to resolve this matter. They are taking all necessary steps to secure his release at the earliest opportunity," the statement added.

Shatta Wale remained at EOCO overnight with his legal team hopeful of meeting his bail conditions on Thursday, August 21.
