Sharaf and Farida Mourn With President Mahama at Alhaji Muniru Limuna’s Funeral Rites

President John Dramani Mahama's children, Sharaf and Farida, appeared on the third day of the funeral rites (Adua) in honour of the late Acting Deputy National Security coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Sharaf and Farida Mahama were in a sombre mood as they joined President John Dramani Mahama and other prominent personalities, including the GoldBod boss Sammy Gyamfi, the Chief Imam Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, businessman Ibrahim Mahama, and many others to mourn the late Alhaji Muniru Limuna.
The former NDC Parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central, Baba Sadiq, was also present with the late acting Deputy National Security coordinator's family members and loved ones.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh, the president's young children wore all-black outfits as they accompanied their father to the deceased's residence in Adjiriganor, Accra, for the customary Islamic rites.
The president's children were later seen engaging in friendly conversation with some attendees who had converged under a canopy to observe the funeral rites.
Sharaf and Farida Mahama later exchanged handshakes with some prominent individuals before joining President John Dramani Mahama to depart the residence after the ceremony.
In some photos Farida shared on her Instagram story, she was spotted kneeling and conversing with the Chief Imam Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.

Muniru and Murtala buried after their demise
The funeral rites for the late Alhaji Muniru Limuna came days after he and cabinet minister Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed were buried in the Military Cemetery after Muslim Jannaza prayers at the Forecourt of the State House.

President John Mahama, Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, were in attendance.
The National Chief Imam and the leader of the Ambariya Sunni Group also attended the funeral ceremony. The families of the deceased were also present in what was an emotional event.
Alhaji Muniru, others die in helicopter crash
Alhaji Muniru Limuna was among the eight people involved in the tragic helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District near Obuasi on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and the Acting Deputy Director-General of Operations at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Samuel Aboagye, were the political officials who passed away.
Three Ghana Armed Forces personnel also perished in the tragic incident, which happened during their trip to Obuasi for an anti-Galamsey event.
