The safe helicopter landing in Ajumako

The aircraft, identified as 9G-ADW, was carrying four passengers when it encountered poor visibility and turbulent conditions mid-flight on August 6, 2025.

In response, the pilot made the precautionary decision to land safely in the open field, which looked like a school compound, drawing large crowds of curious onlookers from the town.

Remains of Omane Boamah, and 7 others land in Accra

YEN.com.gh reported that the mortal remains of Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Murtala Mohammed, and six others who tragically lost their lives in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) helicopter crash have arrived in Accra. In a solemn ceremony, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah led a high-powered government delegation to receive the remains.

Footage circulating on social media captured the emotional moment, as military officers carried the Ghana flag-draped coffins while dignitaries looked on in grief. The heartbreaking scenes from the Kotoka International Airport stirred strong emotions online, with many Ghanaians expressing sympathy for the bereaved families and paying tribute to the fallen public servants.
