Daddy Lumba’s manager, Roman Fada, stirred outrage on social media after introducing the late singer’s second wife as his legitimate spouse.

The highlife legend, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Accra. He reportedly fell ill and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he passed away.
Daddy Lumba’s death triggered a period of nationwide mourning, with many prominent Ghanaians visiting his family in East Legon to express their condolences.
Visitors to the Lumba home so far include politicians such as former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Minority leader in Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Controversy over comment about Daddy Lumba’s wives
Late highlife great Daddy Lumba was succeeded by two wives at the time of his death.
He met his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, in Germany in the 1980s when he was starting as a highlife musician with Nana Acheampong.
She was reportedly highly influential in the musician’s career, as she has been credited with financing his first album.
It’s unclear when Daddy Lumba married his second wife, Priscilla Ofori-Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni.
According to reports, she was a nurse who had cared for him when he was bedridden after undergoing spinal surgery.

Akosua Serwaa was in Germany with the musician’s children, with some claiming they had divorced, and he took Odo Broni as his second wife.

Roman Fada names Daddy Lumba’s 'real wife'
During a meeting at the late musician's family home, his manager, Roman Fada, caused a stir after appearing to settle the debate between the two wives.
Addressing a crowd of dignitaries, he introduced all the members of the family. During his introduction, Roman Fada addressed Akosua Serwaa as Daddy Lumba’s first wife.
He then described Odo Broni as 'Mrs Fosu', indicating her position as the recognised spouse of Daddy Lumba. The TikTok video of Fada’s introduction is below.

Daddy Lumba's widow weeps during condolence visit
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba's wife, Odo Broni, broke down in tears during a condolence visit by Chairman Wontumi.
The NPP politician visited the home of the late highlife legend on July 31, 2025, with footage capturing him consoling the emotional widow.
