Controversial Ghanaian priestess-turned-woman of God Nana Agradaa has reportedly continued her ministry in Nsawam prison.

Nana Agradaa, real name Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, also known as Evangelist Mama Pat, has been jailed for fifteen years with hard labour at the Nsawam Prison.

She was convicted on two counts of defrauding by false pretences and one count of charlatanic advertisement.

Nana Agradaa was found guilty of defrauding multiple victims through a 2022 televised broadcast, during which she falsely claimed to possess spiritual powers capable of doubling money.

Several individuals trooped to her church for the service and handed over large sums of money in the hope of receiving miraculous financial returns that were never delivered.

She was placed on trial and, on July 3, 2025, was sentenced by an Accra Circuit Court to fifteen years in jail.

Speaking to the Heaven Way Church congregation on Sunday, August 3, 2025, Nana Agradaa’s husband, Angel Asiamah, claimed that his wife was running her own ministry in prison.

He said she had become the leader of a congregation and had continued to preach the word of God to win more souls for Christ.

Nana Agradaa apologises to Mahama

Angel Asiamah also delivered a message from his wife to the President of the Republic, President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, Nana Agradaa asked him to deliver an apology to the President for her actions.

He also claimed that Agradaa asked him to apologise to two other people – the Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod), Sammy Gyamfi.

Gyamfi was embroiled in a controversy after he gifted the preacher about $800 during a chance public meeting.

The incident sparked outrage on social media and led to calls for Gyamfi to be fired.

Nana Agradaa denied bail

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Nana Agradaa’s bail application was denied by the Amasaman High Court.

Nana Agradaa applied for bail pending appeal of her jail term, which she received after being convicted of fraud.

The trial judge denied her application, noting that she failed to prove that she had a good chance of winning her appeal.
