The late highlife singer and Abebrese started dating as teenagers while attending the New Juaben Senior High School.

According to reports, Theresa Abebrese helped Lumba, who came from a poor home, with money, food, and other things that he lacked.

She was also responsible for connecting him with a way to travel abroad, which was a major dream of his.

After Daddy Lumba left for Germany upon completion of high school, the former lovers were separated forever, and both went on to marry and establish families.

Later in life, Lumba spoke about the impact Theresa Abebrese had on his life and said he would never forget her.

He also released a song in her honour, Theresa, which became one of the biggest hits of his career.

Daddy Lumba’s teacher speaks on Abebrese relationship

In an interview with Saddick Adams on Angel FM, Daddy Lumba’s teacher, whom he considered his second mother, Mama Acheampong, opened up on the doomed affair between the teenagers.

She said that after Daddy Lumba travelled, the two remained in love and contacted each other.

Mama Acheampong said their relationship only ended after Theresa’s wealthy father arranged a marriage for her with a rich businessman in their area.
