The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman paid a condolence visit to the family of the late legendary singer.

Wontumi received a private audience with Lumba’s wife, Priscilla Ofori Atta Fosu, widely known as Odo Broni.

During the meeting, Daddy Lumba’s widow was inconsolable as she continued mourning her husband.

Chairman Wontumi consoled her with his words, assuring her that the musician would live on forever through his songs.

Daddy Lumba dies after short illness

Highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, died at the age of 60 after a short illness.

He reportedly fell ill at his home in East Legon, Accra, and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he died shortly after arriving.

Before he died, the singer had battled multiple health challenges that led him to undergo surgery to repair injuries to his spine.

The surgeries were successful, but later complications made life difficult, leaving him bedridden for significant parts of his final years.

His death sparked nationwide mourning as Ghanaians of all ages and backgrounds grieved the passing of a great highlife legend.
