Ghanaian businessman Mike Twum Barima stirred attention online after he paid a visit to the home of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba to mourn with his family.

Barima, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Midwest Company, arrived in the company of fellow business owner Jerry Osei Amoah, aka Nana Kobo, the CEO of Kobo Ventures.
Popular Ghanaian highlife singer Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Lumba fell ill at his residence in East Legon in the early hours of Saturday.
According to reports, his family rushed him to the Bank Hospital, located at Cantonments in Accra, where he succumbed to his illness.
His family announced the tragic news in a statement that sparked nationwide mourning.
"With profound sorrow and deep grief, the Fosu family announces the passing of Ghana's beloved musical icon, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away earlier today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness," the statement said.
Mike Twum Barima visits Daddy Lumba’s family
Prominent Ghanaian personalities have flocked to Daddy Lumba’s home over the past few days to express condolences to his family.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, prominent Ghanaian businessman Mike Twum Barima appeared at Lumba’s East Legon residence to console his widow and express solidarity during her difficult times.
Twum Barima was spotted walking from his vehicle into Daddy Lumba’s home, where he had the chance to commiserate with the grieving family.
The businessman, a good friend and benefactor to Lumba and his wife, appeared in the company of his good friend Nana Kobo.

Before his death, Daddy Lumba publicly praised the impact Twum Barima had on his life, noting that he had paid for his crucial spinal surgery.

Daddy Lumba praises Twum Barima
In September 2024, the late singer held a birthday bash to celebrate turning 60 years old.
The event, which was one of his final high-profile public performances, was attended by prominent Ghanaians from the entertainment, business, and political sectors.
Twum Barima appeared at the event with fellow East Legon Executive Club member Nana Kobo and exchanged pleasantries with Daddy Lumba and his wife, Priscilla Ofori Atta.

While onstage to perform, Daddy Lumba sent a personal thank-you to Barima for funding his medical bills.
He stated that when he had issues with his spine, the businessman paid every single cent of his medical bills.
