An old video showing a heartwarming moment between Ghanaian highlife legends Daddy Lumba and Dada KD has surfaced after their deaths.

The Ghanaian highlife fraternity was struck by the deaths of two legendary stars in the space of a few months.
Nana Kwakye Duah, known professionally as Dada KD, died on Friday, May 16, 2025, after he fell unconscious at his residence.
He was transported to the hospital but tragically did not make it.
Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, was also reported dead on Saturday, July 26.
He similarly fell ill at his home and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he passed.

Daddy Lumba and Dada KD beef
The two musicians, who started as close friends and colleagues, developed a rivalry later in their careers.
According to reports, the rivalry arose from their mutual interest in a woman, Cecilia Yaa Sarfoa.
Dada KD opened up about the issue in several interviews and said the incident led to the destruction of their friendship.
He said that while Daddy Lumba introduced him to the woman in question, he never made it clear that they were previous lovers.

Dada KD therefore started dating Lumba's ex, which enraged the Aben Wo Ha singer when he found out about it, ending their friendship.
In a TikTok video spotted by YEN.com.gh on TikTok, the two friends turned enemies were seen reconciling after years of animosity.
Daddy Lumba, while performing at the Kab-Fam legends night in 2023, was joined on stage by Dada KD.
The two hugged in a tender moment that marked the end of their disagreement.

Details of Daddy Lumba's funeral emerge
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba's funeral details had been announced by his manager, Ghanaian media personality and politician Philip Kwabena Agyeman, popularly known as Roman Fada.
Speaking to Citi FM, he said that the singer's management and family had held fruitful discussions with the Presidency regarding his funeral and had been assured of a state burial.
Roman Fada expressed gratitude to John Dramani Mahama for his openness to their ideas, also noting that even before Lumba's death, he had been honoured by the President at a state event.
