Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has donated 500 bags of 5-kilogram rice to some vulnerable students at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, made the presentation through the Dean of Students, Professor Rosina Kyerematen.

In May 2023, the Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana officially launched the Food Bank and “Ketewa Biara Nsua” initiatives as part of the Council's 65th anniversary celebrations.
In a Facebook post, the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, shared the photo on Facebook with this caption:
"This morning, I donated 500 5kg bags of rice to the University of Ghana through the Dean of Students, Prof. Rosina Kyeremanten. The food bank initiative was launched by UG to help financially vulnerable students who find it hard to sometimes have 3 square meals on campus. #idey4u."

John Dumelo organises buses for UPSA students
Ghanaian politician John Dumelo organised free buses for students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, after their examinations.
The overly excited students posed with the politician who assisted them in packing their luggage in the buses as they headed home safely.

John Dumelo talks about new data increment
Earlier, YEN.com.gh wrote about John Dumelo, who praised the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations for the new plan to expand data bundle packages.
A major increase in data packages was announced by the Ministry on June 10, 2025, under the leadership of Ningo Prampram MP Sam Nartey George.
Sam George stated that there would be a 10% rise in all data bundles for AirtelTigo Ghana and Telecel, and a 15% increase for MTN.
