The controversial preacher’s daughter stirred online reactions after she was seen in a video pleading for mercy for her jailed mother.
Founder of the Heaven Way Church, Nana Agradaa, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Accra Circuit Court after being found guilty of fraud and charlatanic advertisement.
She was accused of defrauding church attendees of varying sums of money after advertising her money-doubling abilities.

Nana Agradaa’s 15-year jail term sparked widespread social media debate, with some calling it justified while others said it was too harsh.
Her daughter, Rihanna, who shared a close bond with her mom, cried for mercy in a viral video shared to social media on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Her stepfather, Angel Asiamah, reposted the video with a message for his daughter.
“Baby Rihanna. It is well,” Angel Asiamah wrote on his TikTok account.

Nana Agradaa denied bail
Following her conviction for fraud and charlatanic advertisement, Nana Agradaa filed for bail at the Amasaman High Court.
She was transported from the Nsawam Prison, where she is serving her jail term, to the courthouse on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, for a hearing on her application.
Both lawyers for Agradaa and the state stated their arguments, after which the trial judge, Richmond Osei-Hwere, delivered his ruling.

Nana Agradaa’s church faces closure by EOCO
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Nana Agradaa’s church had reportedly been marked for closure by the Economic and Financial Crimes Office (EOCO).
Reports claimed that EOCO was investigating the Heaven Way Church, founded by the controversial televangelist, over some financial crimes.
Before she was jailed, Nana Agradaa was invited to the offices of the financial crimes agency, but no reason was publicly given for her visit.
