According to multiple reports, the US-based Ghanaian businessman is facing criminal charges for allegedly siphoning over GH¢14.5 million from two bank accounts belonging to Sontim Group Limited, a construction firm that received financial backing from the late Ejisu MP.
The late John Kumah's wife filed a lawsuit against Nana Boadu at the Dansoman Circuit Court for the alleged crime.
The businessman reportedly pled not guilty when he made his last court appearance before Judge Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Baasit on July 2, 2025.
Following a request from his legal counsel, the court granted Mr Seth Otupri Ntim GH¢15 million bail with three sureties.
Reports indicate that two of the sureties must be public servants earning not less than GH¢10,000 per month, and the third must justify the bail with title deeds equivalent to the bond.
Seth Ntim's alleged theft from the company
Sontim Group Limited, a construction company, was established in 2016 with financial backing from the late John Kumah before the general elections.
Following the company's creation, the late Ejisu MP entered into a business arrangement with Mr Seth Otupri Ntim, who had returned to Ghana after a long stint in the US, to secure massive construction contracts from the government and private entities.
Information from the court proceedings indicated that Sontim Group had two different bank accounts. One of the accounts was at NIB (Law Complex Branch), managed solely by Joyce Kumah, the sister of the late John Kumah.

The second bank account at GTBank (Graphic Road Branch) had the late former Deputy Finance Minister's widow, Lilian Kumah, as the only signatory.
Despite being a key executive in the company, Mr Seth Otupri Ntim had no access to the company’s operational accounts.
According to the prosecution, the businessman allegedly created a separate account under the company's name to operate a forex bureau.
However, after John Kumah's passing in March 2024, the construction company's board directed that the interest payments from a government bond investment be transferred into Lilian Kumah’s personal account at NIB.
The board also directed that her younger brother, Theophilus Owusu Gyimah, also be added as a co-signatory to the company’s NIB account, alongside Joyce Kumah.
However, the prosecutors alleged that in October 2024, Mr Seth Otupri Ntim unilaterally altered the signatories to Sontim Group Limited's two bank accounts without the consent of Joyce or Lilian Kumah.
The accused allegedly made separate hefty withdrawals of GH¢1,000,000 and GH¢13,500,000 from the two accounts without any authorisation from his deceased business partner's family members or the board of the company.
Apostle Lilian Kumah reportedly discovered the alleged theft and confronted Mr Seth Otupri Ntim. However, he reportedly went into hiding. John Kumah's widow later filed a formal complaint with the Regional CID, Accra, which led to his arrest.

Mr Seth Otupri Ntim is alleged to be an ex-lover of the imprisoned televangelist Agradaa, or Mama Pat.
According to some reports, the businessman and the embattled evangelist were involved in a secret affair when the latter was still married to her former husband, Pastor Eric Oduro Koranteng, many years ago.
Seth Otupri Ntim's purported affair with Agradaa allegedly ended when the televangelist reconciled with her ex-husband before they got divorced.
