Afia Schwar calls out Kivo Gari manufacturers

Afia Schwar shared a video on Instagram from one of her sons, who claimed to have ostensibly found stones in his Kivo Gari mix.

In the video, the young man used his left hand to show the stone he purportedly found in his food while preparing the popular Ghanaian snack in the kitchen.

In the caption of the Instagram post, Afia Schwar, who recently got her license to become a truck driver, urged her millions of followers to be vigilant especially when feeding children.

"Inside the Kivo Gari my son bought were stones. Pls be vigilant especially when giving it to children," she wrote in the caption.

Afia Schwar also took to her TikTok Live to address the matter, and to explain the incident to her followers on that platform.

While giving her account of events, Afia Schwar explained that at the time, her son wanted to eat gari. She then advised him to buy Kivo Gari rather than the local version. This was when, at least according to them, they allegedly discovered stones in the snack after pouring the contents into a bowl.

"If it is being processed in a hygienic way, do you think there would be stones in them?" she asked.
